Many Ford® vehicle models have a compass controller located in the factory rear view mirror housing, which will render the compass inoperative if the mirror is replaced. This kit allows Ford® owners to easily relocate their compass gyro when the mirror is being replaced for a backup camera mirror or other reason. The easiest way to determine if your gyro is in the rear view mirror is to disconnect the mirror connector and see if your compass still works.
